William J. Schwarze Jr. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 51 years to Lillie Moore Schwarze. Loving father of William J. Schwarze III, Julie Bridget Mary Dashiell (Michael), and Stephanie Elizabeth Logue. Grandfather of Hayley, Michael, Brooke, and Aydan. Son of the late WIlliam J. Schwarze and Mary Reynolds Schwarze. Brother of Joan Hagmann and the late Margaret, Florence, and Estella Schwarze. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
William is a longtime resident of Metairie, LA and a parishioner of St. Christopher the Martyr Catholic Church. He worked for Eustis Engineers for over 25 years and retired from the Corps of Engineers after 20 years of service. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War and is a member of the V.F.W. Post 6640 and the American Legion Post 175.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
