Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Evon William Blackledge and Lorita Gergich Blackledge, as well as his brother, Mark Blackledge and his sisters, Lorita Tamburello and Lovone Kennedy. Steven was a longtime member of the local carpenter's union, a former employee of Belou and Company Construction and worked for a time for the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Department.
