Jason David Butler, “through the darkness he came to find the light”, on Saturday, August 12, 2017. He was 32. He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Butler Strecker; his father, Paul David Butler; his grandmother, Carol Ogilvie; his uncle, Raymond Butler; his aunt, Nita Butler and his cousins, Tiffany and Derek. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Peggy Butler; his grandfather, Merle Kennedy and older brother and guardian angel, Clint Allen Butler.
Jason was a recent employee of Youfit (2017), UFC Gym (2016), Anytime Fitness & Pelican Athletic Club (2016), Sculpt Fitness (2014-2015) and Gym Matrix (2013) and proud owner of Bodies by Butler. Jason had a passion for helping people, dedicating his last few years improving people’s lives through diet and exercise. His personal struggles in life helped motivate others to overcome their adversities. His motto was “Accept your limitations and push past them”, which are words he strived to live by. Jason loved knowledge, was a Batman enthusiast and enjoyed physical activities. He always had a warm smile and an understanding heart.
Family and friends are invited to gather from 5-8 pm on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr. in Metairie. Jason will be laid to rest with his brother at Hope Mausoleum in New Orleans.
