Gary Christopher Griffith, passed away following a brief illness on March 23, 2017, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. He was 60. Gary was born in New Orleans, grew up in Destrehan, LA, and was a resident of Picayune, MS, for the past 13 years. A graduate of Jesuit High School in 1974, and the University of New Orleans in 1981, Gary was a CPA with the Internal Revenue Service for over 35 years.
Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Roye Griffith, his parents, Hugh Franklin Griffith and Rosemarie Teutone Griffith, brother Eric, and sister Lorraine. Gary is survived by siblings Steven Sr., Janet, and Gloria Griffith; stepsons Scott Roye (Marquika), Robert Heath (Stephanie), and Duane Clubb; nephews Steven Jr. (Neely) and Jason (Erika); grandnieces, Jocelyn, Jolie, Elise, and Joy; step-grandchildren Kayla, Shanna, Brian, and Brandon.
Relatives, friends, and co-workers are invited to attend the service at the Garden of Memories, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA, on Thursday, March 30, 2017. Visitation will be from noon to 2:00 p.m., followed by a brief memorial service and burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery in the Chapel of Peace mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, any contribution to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org in Gary’s name would be greatly appreciated.
