Willie James Broussard born October 8, 1952 in West Memphis, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024 at the VA Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Widley and Leola Broussard, as well as his brothers, Charles Broussard and Ronald Broussard. Willie is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Abadie Broussard, his daughters Deanna Johnson (Teri Gordy) and Amanda Nocciolo (John Nocciolo), his grandchildren Eden Johnson Miller, Kelsey Johnson, John Patrick Nocciolo, Viviana Nocciolo, and great-grandson Elliot Miller and his younger brother, Donald Broussard. Additionally, Willie leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and sisters-in-law.
Willie graduated from Abramson High School in 1971. He honorably enlisted as a member of the Armed Forces in Vietnam, showcasing his bravery and dedication to his country and receiving numerous honors for his service. Throughout the course of his life, he was always known for being a prankster, making people laugh with his sense of humor and mischievous plans. He was always the first one to crack up at his own jokes! Willie enjoyed retelling childhood stories of his adventures with his three brothers, winning big at the casino, and the special bond he had with his two dachshunds.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Willie's life will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a mass to follow. Interment will follow immediately in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. As we gather to say goodbye to a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, let us take comfort in the cherished memories and enduring laughter and love that Willie leaves behind.
