On Thursday, April 28, 2022, at the age of 91, Sue Neil Friedman Moffatt entered peacefully into the kingdom of heaven surrounded by love in the home she resided in for the last 60 years. Sue was born on July 5, 1930 in Alexandria, LA to Addie Lachney Friedman and David Jack Friedman. She was raised in Louisiana, graduated from Tulane University and entered Touro Infirmary School of Nursing to fulfill her calling of serving the health and well-being of others. After relocating to New Orleans, she met and married the love of her life, Terrell Moffatt, Jr., on April 15, 1952. While family came first, Sue worked as a Registered Nurse for Dr. Henry Threefoot who was a dear friend and neighbor as well as Dr. Merv Trail and Wallace Rubin. Faith was a large part of her life raising a family - singing in the choir with a voice of an angel at St Paul’s and later attending St. Matthew the Apostle Church. Her faith, love, work ethic, servant heart, wisdom, integrity, generosity and devotion to faith, family and friends will be cherished and remembered by all who were blessed to cross her path.
Sue is survived by her four daughters Debbie Moffatt, Terri (David) Trammell, Julie (Billy) Laurent, and Joan (Stephen) Coffman. She was the proud "Grammie" of 8 grandchildren including Rochelle Cazaubon (Brent), Kori Matherne (Ron), Celeste Clark, Stephen M. Antoine, Jr. (Randi), Billy Stowe (Holly), Stephanie Schwankhart (Phil), Heather Laurent (deceased), and Eric Laurent (Breanna) along with 13 great-grandchildren Caitlyn Cazaubon, Taylor Harris, Skylar Clark, Saige Clark, Ryleigh Cazaubon, Blaine Stowe, Sarah Clark, Garrison Stowe, Hogan Stowe, Brent Cazaubon, Randall Antoine, Jace Schwankhart and Sloan Antoine, 1 great-great grandson Elijah Landry and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents and husband. On behalf of the entire family, we want to express sincere gratitude to Visiting Angels. In particular, Carol Graffam, who served as the primary “angel” for over five years becoming a member of our extended family.
