With profound sadness, we announce the loss of Stanley Joseph LeJeune, age 57, of New Orleans, who passed away on September 14, 2022.
Stan was born July 26, 1965, in Oxford, Mississippi, the son of Stanley and Vyrona LeJeune. He earned his Master’s Degree in Biology from Texas A&M. For over 30 years he was a beloved Professor of Biology at Delgado College. He loved educating the community of New Orleans and watching their knowledge blossom.
Stan was also very passionate about his Las Vegas adventures. He went on yearly Las Vegas trips and was the go-to person to learn about the best deals and steals. His other passions include Nerd Topics like Star Wars and Star Trek. You were entertained by his animated storytelling and caught yourself laughing halfway through any story or joke of his. Stan was a loyal, generous friend and always put the need of others in front of his own needs.
Stan is survived by his loving mother, Vyrona LeJeune, brother, William LeJeune, and sister-in-law, June LeJeune; his two nephews, Stephen LeJeune and Scott LeJeune, his niece Mindy LeJeune; and long-time girlfriend of 18 years, Dorothy Cynthia Parsons.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001. Visitation hour will begin at 11:00. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm with burial to follow. Followed by a repast, details will be provided at the service.
