Sherry was born in Lucy, Louisiana to Etienne Millet and Alice Roussell Millet. She graduated from Edgard High School and began her career.
After beginning her career working at the University of New Orleans library, she went back to school and obtained Associate degrees. She received an Associate degree in General Studies and an Associate of Applied Science in Administrative Office Technology from Delgado. Sherry loved her job and remained employed at the University of New Orleans as a Library Specialist for fifty six years. On April 20, 1963, Sherry married her life-long love, Warren (Red) Vicknair and they had three children together. Lisa Vicknair Silcio (Jeffrey, Sr.), Darren Vicknair (Rhonda) and Jeanie Marie Vicknair Ricard. She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jr. Silcio, Jamie Silcio, Ann Marie Vicknair, Christopher Vicknair, Adam Delaune, Camden Ricard and Dylan Ricard.
Through the years, she participated in the Grandparents Club at St. Mary Magdalen, St. Philip Neri and Archbishop Chapelle High School. She also participated with the Jefferson Parish Junior Deputies, Girl Scouts, Campfire Girls and was on the board of the University of New Orleans credit union.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Warren Vicknair, her parents, Etienne Millet and Alice Roussell Millet and her sister, Barbara Moore.
Services will be held at Garden of Memories on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 10A.M. to 12P.M. followed by a Catholic Mass at noon. Interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wounded Warriors.
