Shannon G. Lanigan

Shannon Ghivizzani Lanigan was called home to our Lord on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 6:00 pm. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James Lanigan; her father, Alfred Ghivizzani; her mother, Marie Campos Ghivizzani; her brother, James "Mac" Ghivizzani; and 2 great-grandchildren, Isabella Knight and Ella Lanigan. She is survived by her sons, Dennis Lanigan and Brian Lanigan (Bethany); her sister, Catherine Ghivizzani; 6 grandchildren: Andrew, Alyssa, Christy, Matthew, Sherry, and Elijah Lanigan; 9 great-grandchildren: Chloe Hughes, Eli Knight, Hayden Keir, Holden Keir, Greyson Lanigan, Jayden Bourgeois, Elliana Lanigan, William Burandt, and Maverick Knight; 9 nieces and nephews; and her "favorite son" and dear friend, Perry Santolucito.
Shannon was born in Biloxi, MS and lived on the Gulf Coast as a child until settling in New Orleans and becoming a longtime resident of Metairie, LA. She worked at William B. Reilly Coffee, Engen Sales, and Jefferson Flea Market.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Tharp Sontheimer Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. Metairie, LA 70001 on Friday, January 14, 2022. Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm with a service beginning at 2:00 pm followed by burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
