Robert Lee Welch Jr.

Robert Lee “Bobby” Welch Jr. passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Welch Sr. He is survived by his mother and step-father, JoAnn and Edgar Bell; his siblings: Edgar Bell II (Crystal), Douglas Bell, Kenneth Bell (Robin) and Crystal Bell and nieces and nephews: Nadia Bell, Ashleigh Bell, Cameron Bell, Austin Bell, Anthony Bell, Tullah Bell and Ayce Bell. Bobby worked most of his life as a lube technician at 5 Minute Oil Change. He enjoyed spending his downtime playing his PlayStation and watching movies. After work he would make sure to have his adult beverage of the day: “It’s time for my drinky drink!” He loved being silly with his nieces and nephews after they came home from school. Bobby loved making himself a nightly feast that usually contained an array of leftovers or food he was craving (always topped with jalapenos). He had a sweet tooth too! You could always count on Bobby to have some candy stashed away. He was especially fond of dogs and cats, feeding the dogs some of his candy and the cats some of the dog food. Bobby was raised reading the word of God and in his final days on Earth he was watching bible stories on his IPad. Visitation will take place at Tharp Sontheimer Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana 70001 on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with a service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately thereafter at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001.
