Phillis Meynard

Phillis Carter Meynard passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the age of 87. She was born November 11, 1933 to the late Otto and Julia Jones and was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mitchell “Mickey” Meynard. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Julie and James Fincher; her grandson and his wife, Sean and Brandi Black; her great-grandchildren, Aiden and Gillian Rupp; and her cousin, Mike Jones.
Phillis was a beautiful family woman and especially a great cook. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed. She was so kind and generous and her heart knew no bounds. The world has lost a great light, but the stars will shine brighter than they ever have.
The family would like to give special thanks to her neighbors, JD, Jason, Dwight, Debbie, and Carol, for being great friends to Phillis and caring for her. They would also like to thank Concerned Care Hospice for their guidance and support while caring for Phillis.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001 on Tuesday, June 21, 2021. Visitation will begin at 12:00 noon with a service starting at 2:00 pm followed by burial. An online guestbook is available at www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.
