Noel Prudhomme Bozeman

December 25, 1927 ~ January 10, 2021 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Tribute

Noel Prudhomme Bozeman, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and pillar of her family passed away peacefully on January 10 at the age of 93.  She was surrounded by her family.  Her long life was a gift to us all and we will cherish her memory forever.
Noel was born in New Orleans on Christmas Day in 1927 to Pauline and Henri Prudhomme.  She spent the entirety of her life in New Orleans and was a proud New Orleanian to the core.  She was the youngest of 5 children and brought joy, humor, and laughter to all who encountered her, most especially to her children and grandchildren.  Noel was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who was never afraid to share her opinion or take charge, hence her nickname, “Sarge.” As a first generation American, she remained true to her French heritage and enjoyed speaking French with her grandchildren, while also embracing current events.  She was young at heart and loved keeping up with the current times, always ready to learn something new.
After the unexpected death of her young husband in 1972, she kept herself busy with what she considered the most important role of her life, being a doting grandmother to her grandchildren.  A midnight run to get beignets with her grandchildren in pajamas, or playing outside in the rain was not uncommon.  She was the fun grandmother, aunt, and friend, who always knew how to have a good time and lived life to the fullest.  She was always our fiercest advocate and we could do no wrong.  She could find humor in almost any situation, and taught us how to always laugh and not take life too seriously.
Later in life she devoted many years working for her son, Bill, where she truly lived up to her reputation as “Sarge.” Those who worked with and around Noel at Delta Audio - Visual Security always knew that “Sarge”was in control.
Noel was preceded in death by her husband, William Francis Bozeman Sr., her parents, her siblings and her beloved Maggie.  She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Bradford (Craig), her son, William Francis Bozeman, Jr. (Tracey), her four granddaughters who loved their Maw Maw dearly, Kim Conte, Lesley Childress (Cullen), Emily Hannan (Chris), Jessie Bozeman (fiancé Mike Dessilla), her 8 great grandchildren who were blessed to know her, Corinne, Wade, Blake, Carlisle, Beth Anne, Jack William, Lila Rose, Arden Noëlle and many special relatives including Martin Shaw, Isabelle Williamson, Lilly Stanton, Ione Hulliger, Amy Prudhomme, Sally Fraser.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the extraordinary kindness and care shown by the staff at St. Joseph’s of Harahan and St. Catherine’s Hospice.
