Maureen Ann Mire

Maureen Ann Mire, a native of New Orleans, LA, went home to Jesus, on Mother’s Day Sunday, May 9, 2021 at the age of 77.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice Joseph and Mae Ann Murry Mire, brother, Ronald Mire and special friend Joseph Wild.

She loved traveling to Italy and throughout the United States, but she most enjoyed the trips to Florida and Alabama where she stayed at the Sea Witch Motel with her loving daughters, Deneen Gonzales and April Barilleaux, picking seashells off the beach, drinking Margaritas, Daiquiris and her Crown.

In her youth she was a gifted Clarinet player and ballet dancer. She loved all things New Orleans, Mardi Gras parades, pretty Mardi Gras beads, seafood and beer, pelicans, humming birds, nature trails, and craft shows. Not only was Maureen a devoted mother to her daughters but also a dedicated employee with 35 years of service to South Central Bell.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001, from 11:00am. until 1:00 p.m. A face cover must be worn. A Catholic Mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. with interment to follow Garden of Memories Cemetery.
