Marlene "Neni" St. Romain

Marlene St. Romain "Neni", age 88, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at 7:30 a.m. in Metairie, LA. She was born on October 6, 1932 in Plaucheville, LA, where she lived and attended St. Joseph’s Elementary and High School. After graduation, she moved to New Orleans where she attended Soule’ Secretarial College. She lived in Metairie and worked as a secretary as well as in real estate for over 30 years. Marlene was a Roman Catholic and a dedicated church organist and choir leader for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ryan and Ila (Guillory) St. Romain, and her sister, Johnette St. Romain Basco.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Ruth St. Romain Mayer of Pineville N.C.; one niece, Lisa Mayeux Polito (Steve); 4 nephews: Robert Mayeux (Jane), Richard Mayeux (Faye), Henri Ryan Guertin, and Roch Guertin (Lynn); as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Further left to cherish her memory are Tara Foto and Jake Lopez, who she thought of as a daughter and grandson. They provided Marlene with love, care and many happy moments the last few years of her life.
