Marlene Gautreau Cheralla

Marlene Marie Gautreau Cheralla passed away peacefully on Monday, September 17, 2018. Beloved mother of Mindy Cheralla Landry (Robert Jr.).
Raised in New Orleans, she attended Mater Delorosa Grammar School and Eleanor McMain High School, where she was a member of Theta Delta Gamma Sorority. She was a resident of St. Angela Merici Parish. She worked for South Central Bell and Loyola University, and volunteered at Tulane University Hospital and Clinic.
Marlene is survived by one sister, Joylyn Murray of Baton Rouge, and a Sister-in-law Elaine Cheralla of Metairie, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband-Michael A. Cheralla Jr. and her parents-Mary L. Gautreau and Darville J. Gautreau.
Her daughter wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Fidelis Scofield Residential Care Home for their committed and attentive care, and Hospice Compassus for their assistance and care in her mother’s final journey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70001. Visitation will be held prior to mass, beginning at 9:00 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Funeral Home.
