Margaret Genevieve Mullahy

Margaret Genevieve Mullahy, a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt, went to be with God on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at the age of 106.
Margaret was a native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and a resident of River Ridge, Louisiana since 2007. Margaret was born on September 5, 1917, the second child of John Henry Mullahy, Sr. and Elizabeth Diehl Mullahy. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Reverend John Henry Mullahy, S.J.; her half-brother, Harmon Lake; her sister, Catherine Ruth Mullahy Gunter and her nephew, William Richard Gunter, Jr.
Margaret is survived by her niece, Jane Gunter McMahon and her spouse, Joseph Raymond McMahon, Jr.; her great nephews, Joseph Raymond McMahon, III(Sharon), Michael William McMahon(Amy), John Mullahy McMahon(Amy), Patrick David McMahon(Glenda) and eleven great-great nephews and nieces: Michael John McMahon, Jr. MD (Shea), William Joseph McMahon, Matthew Thomas McMahon, John Mullahy McMahon, Jr., Christopher Dykes McMahon, Robert Allen McMahon, Max Joseph McMahon, Emily Catherine McMahon, Meghan Elizabeth McMahon, Lauren Elizabeth McMahon and Patrick David McMahon, Jr.
Margaret’s family would like to express their profound gratitude to Donna Ponder, her devoted friend and loving care giver whose gift of a peaceful, comfortable and dignified twilight of her life means everything to them. Margaret lives in the hearts of her loving family who will always remember her strength, love, humor and faith.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 PM. Interment will immediately follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
