Kirkwood “Corkey” Litolff passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at the age of 79. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Trudy Diaville Litolff; his parents, George and Alice Litolff; and his siblings: Frank, George, and Kathy Litolff. He is survived by his children: Kirk Litolff, Sr. (Gay), Karen Choppin (Jason), and Cory Litolff (Chira); 3 grandchildren: Ally Choppin, Kirk Litolff, Jr., and Sabrina Litolff; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and dear friends.
Corkey was born and raised in the Irish Channel and was a longtime resident of Metairie, LA. He was a retired jeweler and a huge Tulane and Saints fan. He loved any reason to party. He could be seen enjoying his Corona at a parade, fishing, hanging in the French Quarter, or going to Harrah’s Casino. He was a true New Orleanian and will be missed by all who loved him.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Memorial Service on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am followed by a service at 1:00 pm.
