June Rita Trosclair Waguespack, age 100 years, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 in Metairie, LA. The beloved wife of 43 years of the late Joseph Rosney Waguespack. Loving mother of Thomas Gerard (Mary), Gary Stephen (Paula), John Jude (Susan) Waguespack and the late Joseph Rosney “Sonny” and Neil Peter (Darcel) Waguespack. Grandmother of Thomas Patrick, Neil Peter, Timothy Jude, Nicole Marie (Coleman), Jessica Rae (Bouchon) PhD, Jason Gary PhD, Jeffrey Joseph, Scott James, Jaime Jennifer Waguespack and the late Tracy Helen Waguespack. Great-grandmother of Madelyn Marie, Grant Michael, Grace Lauren, Gavin Matthew and Gabrielle Lynn Waguespack, Madison Elise and Connor Alan Coleman, Remy Jude and Lilith Marigny Bouchon and Katie Ann Waterwall. Daughter of the late Joseph Espera and Regina Philomene Barre Trosclair. Sister of the late Joseph Espera, Mary Elizabeth (Rome), Joseph Gerard, John Edward and Donald Peter Trosclair. Also survived by many more family members and friends. Mrs. Waguespack was a native of New Orleans, LA and a long-time resident of Jefferson, LA. She was the President of Young Ladies Sodality at Mater Dolorosa School and also taught catechism as a teenager at St. Elizabeth Center at the Batture. She graduated from Ursuline Academy, New Orleans, LA in 1939. Mrs. Waguespack was a long-time parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church and was a member of St. Agnes Ladies Altar Society since 1948, Jefferson Golden Age Club since 1989, Suburban Terrace Civic Association and Ladies Auxiliary VFW 6640. Visitation will be held at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001 on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place immediately thereafter in Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Hospital or the Fighting Blindness Foundation.
