Joseph Warren McQuitty

Joseph McQuitty passed away in Shelbyville, KY on Monday, May 9, 2022 at the age of 75. Born October 12, 1946 in New Orleans, LA to the late James and Martha McQuitty. He worked for 41 years as a water purification operator for the New Orleans Sewage and Water Board. After his retirement, he and his wife, Lelis, moved to Shelbyville, KY to spend time with their grandchildren. His passionate hobbies were playing guitar, chess, reading books, and listening to audiobooks.
Joseph leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Lelis McQuitty; his 3 children: Aileen McQuitty, Joselyn Dupont (Gerard), and Yuliet McQuitty; his grandchildren: Jack, Max, Lelis, Joaquin, Adrian, and Douglas; his siblings: Martha McQuitty, Sally McClellan (David), and James Thomas McQuitty (Claudia); as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001 on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 12 Noon in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum.
