Jewel McCabe Kathmann

Jewel McCabe Kathmann passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the age of 92. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Clarence Kathmann for 41 years. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her devoted son Brian Kathmann (Joan), her grandson, Brett Kathmann, MD (Merideth Taylor), granddaughter Jessica Kathmann Burke (David), and great-granddaughters, Tessa and Marie Burke. She is the daughter of the late Joseph McCabe and Ida May Jacobs McCabe. She was preceded in death by her brother Richard McCabe (late Frances), her sister JoAnn McCabe, her brother Joseph E. McCabe, and a great-granddaughter Grace Burke.

Jewel was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sibling, and friend who always put the needs of others before her own. She devoted many years to her church family of Metairie Ridge Presbyterian Church where she proudly served on many committees and actively participated in the many family life activities. She touched the lives of many, especially during her years as the Director of Metairie Ridge Day Care.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Metairie Ridge Presbyterian Church, 215 Phosphor Avenue, Metairie, LA 70005.
