Henry William Hof

Henry William Hof passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the age of 89. He was a loving husband, Dad, and Paw Paw. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sadie Desselles Hof, his children; Michael Hof (Patricia), David Hof (Linda), and Brenda Hof Wilson (Larry), his grandchildren; David Jr., Christopher, Melanie, Ashlie, Heather, Suzanne, and Daniele, and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings; Mary Mosley, Jeanne Hayden, Jean Pizzolato, Ronald Hof, Catherine Miller, and Daniel Hof, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Evelyn Hof, his in-laws; Allen and Rena Desselles, and his siblings; Willie Hof, Evelyn Hof Fielding, and Linda Hof. Henry served in the US Navy from 1952 through 1954 as a platoon leader. He retired in 1991 from American Cyanamid/Cytec Industries after 36 years of service. He was an active member of St. Catherine of Sienna Men’s Club. He was an officer of the Krewe of Zeus since 1977 and served as the King of Zeus in 1991. Henry was a co-founder of the Irish-Italian Metairie Parade which began rolling in 1983 and held many board member positions. At his leisure he enjoyed fishing in Grand Isle and deer hunting with Jefferson Gun Club.
Visitation and Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home located at 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001. A private visitation for the immediate family will begin at 10:00 am, public visitation at 11:00 am, with services at 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow.
