Henrietta Talbot Rash

October 21, 1932 ~ May 9, 2022 (age 89) 89 Years Old

Tribute

Henrietta Talbot Rash passed away peacefully May 9th 2022 in her home, in Houston TX with her husband and daughter by her side.  She was born October 21, 1932 in New Orleans, LA. where she lived until moving to Houston in the early 70s.
Henrietta's unconditional love and devotion to her family was evident every day of her life. She was kind, compassionate, understanding, fun-loving, creative, hard working and generous, always looking her best. These are just a few of the many ways we could describe her incredible spirit. She always saw the good in anyone she met. Her love of people was matched by her love of animals.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
She was an amazing story teller and would command the room anytime she recounted stories of her life. She had many talents, could fix anything, loved sewing Mardi Gras costumes for Brent and Dell and was proud of her accomplishment for winning the Louisiana Southeastern District Sewing competition. She enjoyed playing softball, ping pong and watching various sporting events where she acquired many friends. She even opened her home to several baseball players from Tulane that remained in her life long after they left school. She attended the College World Series in Omaha NE, with Michael every year starting in 1991. It was there where you might sometimes hear her keeping the umpires honest.
Her home was filled with love, delicious food and sweets. Lots of sweets! She enjoyed cooking and once she knew that you liked something she made, she would be sure to make it for you, whenever she could.
Henrietta’s career at Shell Oil Company began in New Orleans and spanned 30+ years. She was ahead of her time achieving the role of Supervisor of over 50 Keypunch operators, many of whom were not just employees but cherished friends. When she retired from Shell in Houston in 1992 she was working with the Recruitment organization.
Henrietta is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Pfister and Bessie Paquette; her husband of 28 years, Earl John Talbot, Jr.; son, Brent Neal Talbot; sister, Bessie Gordon Pfister Buras; and stepson, George Lee Rash. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Michael Rash; daughters: Dell Talbot (Susan), Kelly Rash Dilts (Brian), Jodi Rash Capps; son, Robert Earl Rash (Carolyn); and daughter-in-law, Cindy Talbot. She was a devoted grandmother to Jared (Stephanie), Emily (Chris), Jonathan (Meghan), Peyton, Cole, Chase (Brittany), Chance (Kelsey), Garrett and Mikki (Mihail) and great grandmother to Elizabeth, Katherine, Brent, Jeffrey, Ellenore, Alice, Michael and Casyn. She had many close loved ones, some of whom lovingly called her “Nan”.
Henrietta’s family would like to thank Vitas Healthcare and those who provided support and loving care for her over the past several years.
