Gary Joseph Cadow passed away on September 8, 2023 at the age of 65. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Mary Cadow and late; William A. Cadow, Jr. He is survived by his three brothers: William “Bill” III (Karen), Kenneth (Antoinette), and Daniel Cadow. Also survived by his two nephews: Eric and Kenneth Cadow Jr.
Gary enjoyed a long and wide-ranging career in the entertainment industry. For nearly 40 years, he served in various roles in music, theater, and movie industries.
Since the 1980’s, he worked with major companies, such as PACE concerts and LIVE NATION, to produce and promote shows and concerts by erecting stadiums and arenas in New Orleans and other Gulf Coast locations.
He traveled the United States and around the world touring to places like Japan and Australia. He worked with celebrities including: The Rolling Stones, Garth Brooks, Jimmy Buffett, Elton John, and many others.
He was passionate about music and theatre, working as a stage manager and crew member on Broadway shows and concerts at the Saenger Theater.
Gary worked on popular movies including: Déjà Vu, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Looper, Battleship, and much more.
He was an active member of the local chapter of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, 478 and Local 39.
When he wasn’t working, Gary enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved spending time and caring for his mother, Mary Cadow.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr. Metairie, LA 70001 on Friday, September 22, 2023. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with a Mass at 12:00 noon followed by burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
