Eugene A. Barilleaux

Eugene “Chick” A. Barilleaux passed away peacefully in Houston, TX surrounded by family on Monday, June 27, 2022 at the age of 94. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and was a resident of River Ridge, LA for 63 years. Eugene grew up in the Irish Channel and graduated from Redemptorist High School in New Orleans. Eugene served his country in the U.S. Army and then began working with South Central Bell where he retired at the age of 55 after 35 years of service. He enjoyed playing baseball where he got his nickname “Chick” and just enjoyed life whether he was dancing, singing in the choir, or hanging out with family and friends. He was a man of faith being a longtime parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Telephone Pioneers. 
Eugene was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 71 years, Vivian P. Barilleaux; his parents, Eugene and Elaine Barilleaux, and his siblings: Iris Pansano, Dorothy Donegan, and Geraldine Jené. He is survived by his loving daughters: Jean B. Craig (Patrick), Mary B. Cuny (Brian), and Karen B. Dart (Nigel); his grandchildren: Kelli McMurtry (Shaun), Kristi Johnson (Joel), Kathryn Craig, Lauren Comarda (Jerad), Jonathan Baudry (Adriana), Hannah Dart, and Nicholas Dart; his great-grandchildren: Ainsley, Wyatt, Nolan, Joel, Hollis, and Henry; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001 on Friday, July 8, 2022.
