Earl "Buster" Reid Jr.

Earl Reid Jr. "Buster", 61, of Laplace, Louisiana, passed away January 22, 2022 in Hammond, Louisiana as a result of complications related to COVID. He was born in Independence, Louisiana in 1960 and grew up near Folsom, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Weber; his father, Earl Reid Sr.; his sister, Earlene Reid; and his best bud, Keith Pepiton. Buster enjoyed working on cars, spending time with family and friends, rooting for the unpopular sports teams and had a passion for cooking and eating. Buster fully devoted his career to working at Snyder Ventures in Metairie, Louisiana and cared so deeply for his co-workers: Tony, Janet, Anthony, Wayne, and Joe. Buster is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Carla Reid; his stepmother, Barbara Reed; his aunt, Theresa Reid; his brother, Jeffery Reid (Brenda); his sister, Stephanie Salter (Billy); his daughter, Sammi Tamplain (Garett); his son, Philip Reid; and his grandson, Avery Tamplain. Buster also leaves behind his brothers-in-law, Dennis (Kellie) and Brian (Beth); his sister-in-law, Ashley (Anthony); nieces: Sandy, Mindee, Heidi, Carolynn, Kristin, Chloe, Jenna, Emma, Kayleigh, Sophia, Izabella, Winnie, Mazie; nephews: Kaleb, Noah, Tim, Jesse, Karl; and many friends, cousins, great nephews, great nieces, and his dog (Bucket).
His memorial service will be held on the Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd. in Metairie, Louisiana. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a short service beginning at 4:30 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Garden of Memories Funeral Home. Interment will be at a future date in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
