Douglas “Roy” Anderson passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Francisca “Chata” Anderson for 66 years. Cherished father of Diane Anderson Miller and Judy Anderson Strickland. Former father-in-law of the late Glenn R. Miller, Sr. and Jeremy D. Strickland. Grandfather “Pito” of Trey Cinquemano and Douglas Charles Miller and three great-grandchildren: Joshua M. Cinquemano, Anthony Vigo and Charles “Peanuts” Cinquemano. Godfather of Stanley Hulse, Omar Perera, Jr. and Marie Usher Gough. Brother of Charles “Buster” Anderson, Alice “Joyce” Fogg, the late Juanita “Nena” McKune, Harry Anderson, Billy Anderson, Helen Gabriel and John Anderson. Also survived by a multitude of beloved nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends. Roy was born in Belize and was a resident of Metairie for 65 years. His greatest love was his family and his greatest passions were flying and fishing.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm and on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 9:30 am until Mass time. Interment will be in the Resurrection Mausoleum located in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
