Donald John Jouandot was born the sixth of six children on July 10, 1929 in Carrolton to Francois Jouandot and Coralie Werling. He attended Mater Dolorosa Elementary School, St. Ben’s Catholic Seminary for a short time and graduated from Aloysius High School. He attended Tulane University and was a staff sergeant in the Air Force, and married to the love of his life, Nelda Dupuy Jouandot for 67 years. He was one of the “Men of Manresa” for over 60 years, and was retreat captain for over 15 years. Early in his career, he worked for Metal Goods Corporation, then worked as the Executive Secretary of the State Tax Commission, and Assistant Deputy to the Jefferson Parish Tax Assessor. He is survived by his wife, his three daughters, Karen Guarisco (Gary), Janie Boudreaux (Danny), and Pam Migliore (Tony); nine grandchildren: Andrea Lanehart (Scott), Bryan Guarisco, Brandon Boudreaux (Denise), Amanda Steen (Andy), Allyson Baker (Chris), Craig Passons Jr. (Brittany), Brett Boudreaux, Erica Passons, Katie Bradley (Scott), and eleven great-grandchildren.
Visitation with a rosary service will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie and on Saturday, June 16, 2018, a Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. at St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church, 4921 W. Metairie Avenue in Metairie with an hour-long visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
