Delia D. Cohan

Delia “Tita” Cohan passed away peacefully in her home on the morning of March 8, 2023. She was born on June 1, 1930 in El Paso, Texas. She moved to Metairie, Louisiana in 1974 where she lived for most of her life. She is survived by her husband, Richard M. Cohan; her daughter, Liza M. Cohan (Stacey); and her two grandsons, Hudson Michael-Cohan Thompson and Sawyer Joseph-Cohan Thompson. She is also survived by a multitude of nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Myron Delamarter and Josephine Corichi Delamarter, and her siblings: Lloyd Delamarter, Esperanza Delamarter, and Ruth Delamarter.
Delia was a woman of strong faith and believed in the power of prayer. She was a parishioner of St. Ann’s Church and Shrine until a move in 2005 where she then was a parishioner of St. Edward the Confessor.
Delia “Tita” was a loving wife, mother, aunt and friend. She would give to those in need, laugh even during the hard times and was a fierce protector of those she loved. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to her two adoring grandsons. She will be missed by all that were graced to know her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001 on Friday, March 17, 2023.
