Debra Ann Ritter

Debra D. Ritter passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022. She was born in New Orleans. She was preceded in death by her parents, Selvin and Florence Dixon and her brother, Edward Dixon. She is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, Ronald J. Ritter Sr.; stepchildren: Sharon Ritter and Ronald J. Ritter Jr. (Melissa); grandchildren: Devyn Mendoza, Kyle Carlisle, Ronald J. Ritter III, Nevaeh Liccardi, Stephen Ritter and Claire Ritter; brother, Jerry Dixon (Judy); nieces: Naomi Dixon and Rachel Dixon and nephews: Jerry Dixon Jr. (April), Edward Dixon Jr. and Nathaniel Dixon. She also assisted in raising two children prior to her marriage: Sandy Souder (Byron) and Penny Valenti. Debra worked at the Jefferson Economic Development Commission (JEDCO). She was active in Church ministry in the capacities of teaching and leading worship, especially at Daniel Park Assembly of God Church, Womens Aglow and the Southshore Christian Fellowship. The family would like to extend special thanks and appreciation to the staff of Heart of Hospice as well as all of Debra’s family and friends for their love, prayers and support. Visitation will take place at Tharp Sontheimer Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, Louisiana 70001 on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with a service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow immediately thereafter at the Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70001.
