David Marcus Jarvis

David Marcus Jarvis passed away at home at the age of 75 on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. He was born January 18, 1947 in Knox County, Kentucky to the late James Jarvis and Aileen Mays Jarvis. He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Jarvis, and his son, David M. Jarvis, Jr.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Nanette Daigle Jarvis; his children: Jake McKnight, Michelle Jarvis Wright (Jason), Mary Johnson (Tom), Lorraine Wynn,. Wendy Huval (Chad), Callie Wynn; his daughter-in-law, Sasha Jarvis; his grandchildren: Aileen, Josie, Elizabeth, Katherin, Aloha, Kelikoa, Mary, and D.J. III; as well as 6 great-grandchildren and his former wife, Linda Mauer.
David worked in sales for Mauer Distributing, ACB, Eis Brake Parts, and Wards Auto Parts until losing his vision in 1987. He then joined Randolf-Sheppard Vendors of the Blind in 1989 and began a new career in Restaurant Management. He worked with OLHCC for 15 years and then in the Yenni Building for another 4 years until a stroke left him disabled. Prior to becoming vision impaired, David loved playing golf with his friends: Kenny Powell, Bernie Massett, Nick Shelley, and Chris Shelley. David was known for his work ethic and his great sense of humor. He will be missed by those who knew him.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001 on Saturday, July 9, 2022. Gathering will begin at 12:30 pm with a service at 1:00 pm. The family will hold a reception following the service. Online condolences may be offered at www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.
