Clinton G. Schoeneman

April 1, 1925 ~ April 9, 2018 (age 93)

Clinton Schoeneman passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the age of 93. He is survived by his daughter, Linda K. Schoeneman Helscher and her husband, Larry Helscher; his stepdaughter, Evelyn O’Toole; four grandchildren: Mike Helscher and his wife, Julie, Jason Helscher and his wife, Melinda, Maia O’Toole and Shereen O’Toole and two great-grandchildren, Ethan Helscher and Peyton Helscher.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years, Irene Schoeneman; his son, Larry Clinton Schoeneman; his parents, John Lawrence Schoeneman and Grace Smith Schoeneman and his three brothers, Roger Schoeneman, John Schoeneman and Warren Schoeneman.
Clint was born in Port Washington, NY and was a longtime resident of Metairie, LA. Prior to entering the US Navy in 1941, he worked as an embalmer’s apprentice for Koom’s Funeral Home in Cocoa, FL. While in the Navy, he served as an electrician’s mate aboard the USS Knudson. After he was discharged in 1946, he began to work as a long-haul truck driver for Kilgore Ceramics as well as other companies.
A graveside service will be held on Monday afternoon, April 16, 2018 at 2:00 PM in Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA (504) 833-3786. To access the interment site, please follow the red arrows.
