Carolon M Leonard

Carolon Marie Koenig Leonard, of Cape Girardeau, MO went home to be with the Lord on September 9, 2023, at the age of 84. Carolon was the daughter of the late Edwin Koenig and the late Irene Schaefer Koenig. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Dwight Judson Leonard, her sister Evelyn Koenig Crites, and her brother Herman E. Koenig. Carolon is survived by a son, Dr. Stuart Leonard of Hattiesburg, MS. She loved her Heavenly Father, her church family, and teaching Sunday School. She was a member of Metairie Baptist Church, Metairie, LA. Carolon dedicated almost 40 years of her life to the teaching of children at the pre-school and elementary school levels. Over the course of her career, she taught at several schools including St. Paul-First English Lutheran School, Faith Lutheran School, and Memorial Baptist School. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA. from 10:00 am until 11:00 am immediately followed by burial. A Celebration of Life service will also be held at Metairie Baptist Church, 401 Codifer Blvd, Metairie, LA on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 12:00 pm with Dr. Thomas Strong officiating.
