Bernadine Smith

Our dear mother, Bernadine “Bernie” Pillittere Smith, sadly passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the age of 70. Bernadine was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend, who was always there when anyone needed her. She also had many family and friends who loved her dearly and will be missed terribly.
Beloved wife of the late Gregory Albert Smith. Daughter of the late Joseph Vito Pillittere and Virginia Catalanotto Pillittere. Mother of Kerri Smith Dominique and Gregory Joseph Smith (Jennifer). Grandmother of Shane Naquin, Gabriel Dominique, Jr., Molly Dominique, and Ethan Smith. Sister of Philip Joseph Pillittere, Sr. (Darlene).
A native of New Orleans and resident of Kenner, LA for over 30 years. After retiring from ACS Medical Business Solutions as a Manager and Certified Professional Coder, she enjoyed time with her family and friends. Bernie and Greg were lifetime members of the Greater New Orleans Corvette Club and enjoyed many events and vacations with club members. Bernie was a devout Catholic and active member in the church. She was always loving and enjoyed teaching people new things. In her everyday life, she showed her loving and caring by always devoting herself to others and her church. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation beginning at 9:00 am on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
