Ambrose Leo Michiels, Jr.

Ambrose Michiels, Jr. passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the age of 86. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Earline Michiels, and his parents, Myrtle and Ambrose Michiels, Sr.

He was the devoted father of Mark Michiels (Melissa) and Adam Michiels (Marcy); loving grandfather of Cassandra and Zachary Michiels; and brother of Shirley Warfel and Philip Michiels. He is also survived by nieces and nephews: Gwen Riviere, Gail Landry, Aimee Gates, Brandi Allen, Adrieanne Doiron, Bethany Haywood, and Gretchen Vasquez; his cousin, Russell Michiels; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Ambrose was a native of Alexandria, LA and a longtime resident of Metairie, LA. He served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged. He held many jobs throughout his life, working at Honeywell, Exxon Mobile, Shell, Chalmette Refinery, and many others. He was an avid runner and volunteered at NOTC and the New Orleans Running System. He also enjoyed gardening and was a baseball and track and field fan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001 on Thursday, April 18, 2024.
