Linda Marie LaCombe

Linda Marie Roussel LaCombe, Loving Wife, Daughter, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend gained her wings and went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, 4/12/2024. She departed us just one day shy of the anniversary of her daughter Mary Joannes journey to Heaven.

Linda was first and foremost a child of God and everything she did in life was guided by Gods word. To know her was to know one of the kindest, giving, loving souls that has ever walked this earth.

Linda was born in Edgard, LA and was the second youngest of nine children born to the late Josephine Berthelot Roussel and George Roussel, Sr. She was a loving and devoted wife for 55 years to Louis Dennis LaCombe, Jr. who proceeded her in death. She was a devoted and loving Mother to Mary Joanne LaCombe who proceeded her in death, and survived by her son, Louis Dennis LaCombe, III (Connie).

She loved and cherished her children, and grandchildren Tyler Louis LaCombe (Darby), Jeremy Barraco (Lauren), Jessica Becnel (Andrew), great grandchildren Ellie Barraco, Grady Barraco, Granger Becnel, & Delaney Claire LaCombe

She is survived by her siblings Ronald Roussel (Jeanette), Beryl Faucheux (Lewis), Carroll Roussel (Meryl), and MaryAnne Updegraff (Ross) and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings George Roussel, Jr. (Faith), Katherine Hartdegan (Gus), Earl Roussel, Sr, (Regina), Margaret Faucheux (Sidney)

Linda attended the University of New Orleans and attained a master’s degree in special education. Teaching and helping Special Needs Students was a calling and something she was extremely devoted to. Linda retired from teaching Special Education at Riverdale High School and continued to care for her disabled husband and daughter for many years. She was a volunteer for St. Agnes Church /Jefferson and St. Christopher Church/Metairie. She was active with the Senior Center in Jefferson LA and made many dear friends there.

Linda and Dennis enjoyed many years traveling to the Country/Franklinton, LA to enjoy time with their kids, grandkids, grand dogs, pigs, goats, and chickens.... Linda officially moved with her son and daughter in law in 2023 and loved the quiet life on their small farm.

Jesus take her in your arms and welcome your most obedient daughter, who served you here on Earth unlike no other. Love and keep her until we meet again.

Relatives and friends are invited for a Visitation on Friday, 4/26 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm and Mass @1:00 pm all at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA followed by entombment in Garden of Memories Cemetery
